Presented by Minister Sean Power T.D.and ow in their forth year, the Inspired IT Awards were created by iReach to recognise heads of IT and their teams for their strategic role in helping to drive competitiveness and place Ireland at the forefront of knowledge creation and IT innovation globally. Supported by a wide range of sponsors including HP, SAS, Dell, Datapac, Magnet Networks amongst others. Winners included Revenue Online, Permanent TSB, RTE, Genzyme, Perlico, eircom, AIB and of course our own beyond Endurance Education Programme took an award under the Green IT Project of the Year for our TYACT project which links science, technology and active citizenship in Transition Year students through an inspirational Voyage of Discovery to Antarctica where students will work as research assistants with scientists on a three week journey in Antarctica this November.
These Awards have now been established as the focal point in Irish ICT calendar highlighting the achievement of IT Executives and their teams in Ireland. In 2008 iReach recognised 12 category winners across the Irish marketplace representing all types of companies; government departments, SMEs, global multi-nationals and leading indigenous companies.
400 attendees from the Irish IT and Telecoms community attended the Gala dinner on October 9th in the Mansion House, Dublin. The Gala Awards have now become the highlight in the calendar of IT Professionals and iReach continue to recognise the achievement of IT Executives and their teams that invest over Ђ10 billion in ICT here on the Island of Ireland to create competitive advantage and business value.
