Camping

Tents

On every one of Pat Falvey's expeditions to some of the very wildest places on Earth, he has used The North Face VE 25 tent for c omfort living at camps. Last year, 100 mile per hour winds at the South Col hammered the climbers as they sheltered inside the lightest of nylon, built into a tent design we think is the very best! In conjuction with the North Face, we will also use the aptly named Vango Force 10.

Sleeping Bags

There is nothing warmer than down. We will endeavour to secure
warmth, comfort and safety in sleeping bags made by Rab Since our earliest expeditions, we have come across noting to challenge these creations of tough, rip-stop nylon and white goose down. There will be sleeping bags on use in this trip that have been through numerous expeditions over several years. This year we will use a new Expedition Sleeping Bag filled with over a kilo of white Polish goose down (with an enormous fill power of 750+) and built to the very highest technical standards. This is the bag we hope to sleep in at 26000íbefore and after our summit attempt where temperatures can go down to minus 50 degrees centigrade.

Sleeping Mattresses

Our requirement to rest well will depend on many factors but primary among them will be the mat that cushions us from the rock and ice of Everest. We have again choosen the world-leader in camp sleeping mattresses, the original Thermarest from Cascade Designs.
These self-inflating mats provide outstanding comfort and insulation in all conditions. At base camp we will relax in the luxury of the Camp Rest and higher on the mountain we will use the Ultralight model along with the closed-cell foam of the Ridge Rest.
