The
leader of the expedition is the Irish mountaineer
and adventurer, Pat Falvey. The Cork born climber
has
an impressive summit record for mountains
over
18,000 feet, with a total of 35 ascents to his
credit in
the past 10 years. These include,
of course, Everest
itself (from the north-Tibet
in 1995), Cho Oyo, the
world's sixth highest
peak (climbed without
supplementary oxygen in 1997), the highest peak
on
each of the seven continents and many more.
Pat is 45 years of age and is a full-time adventurer,
team-trainer,
and motivational speaker. |

Clare
O'Leary is a 32 year old doctor from Bandon,
Co.
Cork. She has climbed extensively in Africa,
Alaska,
South America, the Himalayas, the Alps
and Scotland.
A member of the Irish Everest
Expedition 2003,
Clare reached a personal height
record of 24,500
feet before being forced to return
to Base.
Clare is returning to Mt. Everest believing she
will
this year achieve the view from the summit. "I
would
be so proud to be the first Irish female to reach
the
top of the world". |

John
Joyce has trained and climbed in Scotland,
Spain, the Alps, Africa, South America and the
Himalayas.
He took up mountaineering after retiring
from
a successful basketball career some 12 years
ago.
Aged 43 he runs his own insurance and
auctioneering
business in Tuam, Co. Galway where
he was born and reared.
John was base camp manager for the Irish Expedition
to
Everest in 2003 and hopefully in 2004 he will
achieve his boyhood ambition to summit the mountain. |

Pemba
is in charge of our strong Sherpa team on
the
mountain and holds joint responsibility
with Pat
for all the logistics to enable a successful
expedition.
The Sherpa team are an integral part of the
expedition
and without their participation we
would stand little
chance of success. They are
all personal friends
of Pats and have worked
together on different
expeditions that he has run over the last 13
years
in Nepal and Tibet.
All of the Sherpas are considered full team members
and
are treated and respected as so. Between them
they
have made many notable successful attempts
on
the worlds highest mountains including
Mount
Everest. |
