All gear has been washed and aired and packed away- not to far back in the closet though! After a mind-blowing trip, I have the pleasure of looking at everyone's pictures and videos to compile a disc of our trek and each picture brings me back to the Himalayas, back to some of the most breath taking scenery imaginable, and back to an experience of a lifetime.

In being asked to compile a trip report, I was hesitant as each person went on the trip for a different reason- whether it was to get an insight into the lives and culture of the Sherpa people in this fascinating country, or to experience the Himalayas first hand, or to see the sun on the snow capped peaks above the Khumbu Glacier from the summit of Kala Pattaror or indeed to catch a glimpse of the goddess herself, Mt Everest and fantastic weather allowed us to see that on many a day past Deboche (thankfully heh Sue?)
And everyone took something different from the 18 days. Some feedback received to date on the experience and the trip includes

It can't be denied that the trek was a challenge that pushed limits with some tough sections especially along the Khumbu glacier. The challenge was part of my reason for wanting to trek to Everest Base Camp. It was also to stand in and see first hand mountains I had heard so much about. To walk away having made friends in Sue, Mary and Willie was an added bonus. To have shared this experience with Chris, a friend from our Mt Kilimanjaro trek in 2008 was fantastic and of course to Jerry, our wonderful leader, a good friend and a great inspiration. The group was completed by Dowa & Cami (our Sherpas) Psang and our 2 porters who provided us with alot of smiles, support and guidance for the trek. To many happy climbs ahead and to getting back one day to attempt Amadablam- a girl can dream can't she!!
